‘Kodai Kondattam’ 2025 at Anna Centenary Library

‘Kodai Kondattam’ means Summer Celebration. We often associate summer in Tamil Nadu with heat, summer vacation for children and school holidays for children. The Children's Section has been very active right from the inception of Anna Centenary Library in 2010.

The Children’s Section in Anna Centenary Library leaves children, parents and visitors awestruck with wonder as they enter it. During summer vacation Anna Centenary Library has organized a month-long program throughout May 2025.

The ‘Kodai Kondattam–2025’ program was conducted under the visionary guidance of the Hon’ble School Education Minister and the Principal Secretary of the School Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu. With the dynamic supervision of the Director of the Public Libraries Department and the Chief Librarian and Information Officer of Anna Centenary Library, the vibrant summer cultural festival ‘Kodai Kondattam’ commenced on 1st May. This initiative reflects a collective commitment to fostering knowledge, creativity, and cultural enrichment among children and the community at large.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the curators of ‘Kodai Kondattam’—the Chief Librarian and Information Officer, as well as writers, journalists, and poets Mr. Balabharathi, Mr. Vishnupuram Saravanan, Mr. Vijay Anand, and Mrs. Kavimalar—for their dedicated efforts and unwavering support, which made this vibrant summer celebration a remarkable success.
