A Folk Arts event - Nattupura Kalaigal was conducted by Mr. Sundaramurthy and he was honoured with a memento by Mr. K. Prabhu, Librarian. The formal introduction of the resource person was given by Mr. Mohanathan, Librarian.
Mr. Sundaramurthy engaged the children with an insightful talk on the origins, history, and benefits of folk arts. As the key activity, he distributed colourful hand puppets to all participants and taught them the basics of Oyilattam, a traditional folk dance. The session emphasized the development of artistic skills such as music and dance, encouraged self-expression, supported both mental and physical growth, and highlighted the importance of preserving cultural traditions.
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Mohanathan, Librarian and the programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 children, making it a lively and culturally enriching experience.
